Join us at the beach!
A trip to San Diego is not complete without a visit to beachfront amusement park and boardwalk Belmont Park. The park, developed by sugar magnate John D. Spreckels, has been in operation since 1925 and offers something for everyone. Join everyone for dinner at The Beach House with beautiful beachside view of the Pacific ocean. Afterwards, relax and enjoy view, or stroll along the Boardwalk or beach.
For thrill-seekers, ride the coaster. Built in 1925, the 2,600-foot-long Giant Dipper is a fun, rattling ride that soars above the park and offers ocean views. If you’re ready for more, have a go on other classics like the Tilt-a-Whirl, zipline, or bumper cars. For lower-octane pursuits, there’s also an arcade and carousel.
Friday, April 28
On Friday night we attend the ever-popular Annual Banquet. It is time to celebrate our colleagues as the honors and awards are presented. There are questions that are as old as time such as who will walk away with the Ugly Jacket? Will the Bullshipper’s award make an appearance? Only time will tell. Sit back and enjoy the program as the out-going President passes the mantel of responsibility to the incoming President.
Saturday, April 29
The Fun Run/Walk chairs will have a blast plotting the course for our attendees and guests who plan to participate in the event this year. All registrants will receive a commemorative Fun Run t-shirt with their registration fees. Stretch those legs and pack those sneakers.
If registering after April 6, staff will accommodate your t-shirt size request the best they can as the t-shirt order has been submitted. Limited quantities will be available for anyone registering after April 6.
TLA will offer attendees and guests the opportunity to lounge poolside on Saturday afternoon and watch friends and colleagues engage in pool fun – maybe raft races will make a come- back! Bring your swimsuit and get ready to relax and have fun with your friends.
As we close another great conference, TLA will host a bayside dinner complete with bonfires on the beach. So grab your best beach-comber gear and settle in for a cozy evening bayside with friends and associates.
